This is my '83 Ford Fairmont Futura as I bought it. Came with a 200 six cyl. engine and low miles. Just 68,000 miles and never seen snow or the road salt. Very clean car to build a beast out of it.
I have made some major changes to this car. I pulled the engine and automatic transmission out and many more. I replaced the K-member with a QA1 Tubular K-member with adjustable coil over struts, caster camber plates, and tubular A-arms. The front spindle are '98 Mustang GT. Also, the Mustang provided the 8.8 Limited Slip Rear end with disc brakes, front and rear sway bars.
The engine is now a 351w producing about 400 H.P. and the tranny is a very beefy C-4 . The engine has Edelbrock Performer RPM Air Gap intake, RPM Cam, RPM Heads, and 800 CFM Carb. Along with a complete Protronix Ignition System. Headers are BBK shorties with all custom exhaust with "X" pipe.
The body has no changes except for the paint. A nice 2 tone of Ford Red Fire and black. '05 Mustang wheels and a stock Mustang hood scoop from the early '80's that is now functional.
So, this site is about my current build , past build, lots of pictures and info on engine swaps.....even how to use your inline six K-member with a small block Ford V-8 combo.
